Finally... Paint!

Some farms boast century old, traditional, beautiful barns.

Our 2 barns are neither old nor traditional, but modern (circa 1980 and 1984) and functional. While not exactly ugly, they really have little character or style. They are simple pole barns covered in steel that can be built quickly and inexpensively. Our main barn which houses our fruit packing line and 2 cold storages replaced the original barn that my father built soon after buying the farm in 1947. It was a classic structure that served us well but after many years and many additions we finally decided to replace it totally and start over. We built in 1984 and this is what it looks like (in winter).
The last few years both barns have begun to look old and tired. The paint is fading, peeling and rusting, something like this...

Every year we promise ourselves that this will be the year we repaint  but it never happens - until now. Finally... paint! We even hired a pro, so it really will get done - and get done right.
Here is a shot of the painting in progress. I'll post more pictures when all is complete.
